This year’s ranking is based upon 2008 revenue as voluntarily reported by the 100 largest architects and engineers of Arizona, Nevada and New Mexico.

The top 100 firms reported $1.43 billion in design work for 2008, a 15% drop from the $1.68 billion reported in 2007.

Arizona firms dropped a similar amount, from $975 million in 2007 to $843.9 million in 2008. Nevada dropped to $351.6 million, a level of work not seen since 2003. New Mexico designers reported $258 million, down from $276 the previous year, a much smaller decrease than the other two states experienced. Information was gathered through an online survey.
