New Las Vegas Roadway, Streetscape Projects Begin

Rainbow Boulevard, from south of Smoke Ranch Road to north of Gowan Road, is being resurfaced as part of a roadway maintenance and sidewalk improvement project. Las Vegas Paving is the contractor on the $1.5-million ARRA-funded project.

Another city of Las Vegas project will have Richardson Construction prepare and install two, 45-ft-tall sculptures that were designed by renowned artist Dennis Oppenheim. Crews will install the foundation and infrastructure that will culminate with the placement of the large-scale artwork to serve as way-finding guides to the Las Vegas Arts District. The brush tips of the pair of paintbrushes, when lit, will emit an array of rainbow lights into the sky.?
