#20: Northern Edge Navajo Nation Casino – Phase 1, Upper Fruitland, N.M. This $60-million project was completed earlier this year, after just 10 months of construction. Key to the project was an elaborate ceiling design incorporating design elements reflective of the Navajo culture, but also incorporating displacement ventilation to support odor control from smoking and food on the casino floor. During the peak period of construction, the ceiling system had no fewer than 100 tradesperson plus all of their equipment, materials and tools working in less than 20,000 sq ft of space, says Matt Richards, project executive at Okland Construction.
