Realty Executives Phoenix Announces New President

New leadership elicits a new chapter in the firm’s 44-year legacy.

Realty Executives Phoenix named Dominic Scappaticci as the new president and designated broker. Scappaticci originally started his career with Realty Executives Phoenix when he received his real estate license in 1975. He brings over three decades of professional experience in residential real estate in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Prior to his position with Realty Executives, Scappaticci was the former chief executive officer and designated broker for Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty in Phoenix. Past positions also included president and designated broker of The Equitable Real Estate Company and the executive vice president of sales for Coldwell Banker Pinnacle Peak Realty.

Scappaticci is the successor of John Foltz who continues with Realty Executives as president emeritus. Foltz will participate in speaking engagements, coaching and will head major projects at Realty Executives related to supporting entrepreneurs in the real estate profession.


James A. Lane has joined Schneider & Associates as senior structural engineer.

Lane is a registered structural engineer in Arizona and 21 other states with 22 years experience as a structural engineer. He holds a bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering from Kansas State University. Lane started his career in the construction industry, then studied structural engineering, obtained his professional engineering license and worked for architectural engineering firms in several states.


Robert McClelland has joined Arizona Structure Technologies, Inc. as a maintenance mechanic. Prior to joining AZST, McClelland served First Choice & JC Trucking as shop foreman.


Gilbane Building Co.’s Arizona Nevada district office recently hired Clay Creaser, LEED AP as project manager. Creaser brings to Gilbane over five years of construction industry experience. He will work closely with the owner and his construction team to assure the project is completed on time and within budget. Creaser holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from Northern Arizona University.


Graham Downes has launched Moran-Downes Architecture, a new design firm focusing on sustainable design for hospitality, spa/wellness, multi-family and residential clients. Downes has secured the marketing experience of Gregoria Moran, previously of Moran Architects, to oversee the new company’s market direction.

Downes has practiced architecture internationally for more than 25 years and is registered in the United States, Great Britain and his native South Africa. His design principles, space planning and articulation of surfaces have resulted in urban mixed-use buildings to hospitality, retail and housing environments. MoranDownes Architecture currently employs a staff of five. As CEO and principal, Downes will direct operations of the firm, while Moran will assume marketing and local management responsibilities.


Paul Toplak was appointed vice president of business development for Martin-Harris Construction. He is also a member of the team whose goal is to continue regional expansion and support of the Arizona, Texas and New Mexico offices. Toplak joined Martin-Harris Construction in 2000 coming from a small family construction business. He has an Associate Degree in Building Engineering Technology from BCIT. Toplak’s first position was project engineer, moving up to MHC’s special projects group for the past four years. His team was responsible for a $40-million portion of MHC’s profit.
