Denise Pape, P.E., LEED AP has joined GLHN Architects & Engineers as electrical engineering department manager. The firm has also promoted John Jolly, LC to chief electrical designer. Pape moved to Tucson from Denver, where she was an associate at ME Engineers specializing in sports complexes and large commercial projects. She brings extensive team management and electrical systems design experience for medical centers, educational facilities, high-rise corporate centers, residential assisted living communities and large-scale building renovations and expansions. Her energetic team approach enhances the firm's project management, LEED design and technical capabilities.

Jolly joined GLHN in 2002, bringing over 30 years of electrical lighting and design experience. As chief electrical designer, Jolly will train junior electrical staff, serve as the department's technical spokesman and resource for design and code issues and perform quality control review of electrical documents. He is past president of the Southern Arizona Chapter of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.

The new staff assignments follow the recent advancement of Ted Moeller, P.E., CEM, LEED AP to the GLHN Board of Directors and appointment as vice president and director of electrical engineering.


Studio Southwest Architects has promoted Michelle Franks to chief financial officer and has elected her as partner. Franks joined the firm in 1997 as an office manager; most recently she served as controller. In her position, she handles corporate financial activities and assists with strategic planning. Franks has worked in the accounting field for 23 years. Before joining Studio Southwest, she held positions with BDM International Inc., Geoscience Consultants and Ktech Corporation.

Franks earned a bachelor of business administration degree from New Mexico State University; and a master of business administration from the University of New Mexico.


Bobby Mendez has joined Concord General Contracting, Inc. as a project engineer. Mendez will be assisting the project team with all submittals, contracts, scheduling and subcontractor coordination. Mendez graduated from Arizona State University and was previously an assistant project manager within the industry.


Ensemble DevMan of Arizona has hired a local medical office expert to lease its portfolio of healthcare properties in Phoenix's West Valley market area. Bettina Nash has over 14 years of experience in the Phoenix and Chicago-area office and healthcare markets. She has a resume of landlord representation in lease negotiations, as well as budgeting and financial reporting. Nash's prior experience includes seven years of high-density office leasing and property management activity at Marc Realty for its downtown Chicago portfolio. While at Marc Realty, she was recognized for excellence in contract negotiation, crisis management, and for outstanding performance. Since 2006, Nash has leased the KRW portfolio for Roskamp Arizona Realty. While at Roskamp, Nash averaged over 50 lease transactions per year in the Sun City area. Nash holds an Arizona broker's license, CPM and is a member of BOMA. She was recently accepted into Arizona State University's master of real estate development program.


Tony Mardam has been hired as the manager of HDR's Arizona Water Business Group and will be based in the firm's Phoenix office. Mardam has more than 25 years in consulting, engineering, construction, project finance and design-build execution of water and wastewater projects. He brings a diverse background of experience to this position, including water and wastewater master planning, development of capital improvement programs and subsequent rate studies, wastewater treatment process and sludge experience, and federal procurement expertise with agencies including the Department of Defense, Environmental Protection Agency, Department of Energy and the U.S. Agency for International Development.


Craig Owsley has joined Quadna Phoenix as credit and accounts receivable supervisor.


RSC Equipment Rental has promoted Linda Luman to vice president, staffing and employee relations. In her new role, Luman will lead the recruitment and retention of top talent, and continue working towards making RSC the employer of choice in our industry. Prior to joining RSC Equipment Rental as a director in 2005, Luman was with Eastman Kodak Company.


Robert P. Robeda rejoined the Molzen-Corbin & Associates management team as chief operating officer. Robeda brings 31 years of experience in the construction industry most recently as general manager for Waycor, a concrete and materials supply corporation. Before that, Robeda served as director of operations at Molzen-Corbin & Associates for three years. He has a degree in business administration from the University of Southern Colorado. As COO, Robeda's duties at Molzen-Corbin & Associates will include overseeing the project delivery and quality systems processes, assisting the CEO in client development and participating in corporate marketing programs and activities.


Loreto Bay Design Group added Matt Lamont, RA as a partner. Lamont brings over 20 years of experience in the healthcare, mixed-use commercial, mission-critical and hospitality markets to the firm. He is a LEED accredited professional, is NCARB certified, and holds active licenses to practice in 10 states. Lamont holds a bachelor of architecture degree from the University of Southern California.
