Names In The News - March 2009

NAIOP Southern Nevada has elected its 2009 board of directors. Lee Phelps of Real Estate Group Nevada will serve as president of the board. Newly elected directors are Vic Donovan, NAI Las Vegas; Gary Congdon, Lee & Sakahara Architects; Barbara Demaree, Southwest Gas Corp and Michael Newman. Re-elected directors include Kyle Nagy, CommCap Advisors; Brad Schnepf, Marnell Properties and John Ramous, Harsch Investment Properties.


Beth Harmon-Vaughan, FIIDA, LEED-AP managing director of Gensler Phoenix, was named principal. She specializes in the design of large public and private sector projects. Harmon-Vaughan holds master’s degrees in business management and marketing from the University of Missouri and is pursuing a doctorate in interior planning and sustainable design at Arizona State University.


TDIndustries Inc. promoted Rick Carney to sales manager. In his new position Carney will provide life cycle sales, service sales and will help provide customer solutions. Carney has been with TDIndustries since 2003.

The firm also promoted Chris Brown to operations manager of special projects. Brown has worked in the local HVAC industry since 1991 beginning as a pipefitter apprentice and worked his way up. Brown joined TDIndustries in April of 2007 as a project manager. He is a member of ABA and LDF graduate.


Cade G. Rowley has been promoted to area manager for Southern Arizona at Sundt Construction Inc. Rowley is based in Tucson and will lead the company’s efforts to acquire and construct heavy civil work in Southern Arizona, as well as oversee business development, preconstruction and operations. Rowley has worked at Sundt for 11 years as project engineer and field engineer on a number of large civil construction projects. He received his degree in civil engineering from Arizona State University.


McCarthy Building Companies Inc. Southwest Division President Bo Calbert was appointed to the board of directors of the Arizona Builders’ Alliance. In this role, Calbert will utilize his 26 years of experience in the construction industry to provide strategic direction to the organization.


Eagle Drilling Services LLC has named Francisco Barron the driller’s assistant for Las Vegas. In his position Barron will be responsible for the overall support for drillers and equipment maintenance of the Eagle Drilling operations.


Gateway Realty & Management has named Tom O’Neill as its vice president of marketing. Prior to joining Gateway Realty, O’Neill held positions across the country in various facets of the commercial real estate industry, specializing in retail and master-planned community development. He holds a B.S. in information systems and business administration from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.


Dorwin Systems welcomes Andrew Karelse as the newest member of the firm’s Las Vegas office as a sales representative. Karelse is a native of Grand Rapids, Mich. and attended Ferris State University while working for a local distributor prior to arriving in Las Vegas in 2006. Karelse will be responsible for many project types, including new construction, end-use /owner sale and tenant improvements.


Circle West Architects has promoted Dudley Campbell, AIA, as principal and Moazam Khan as associate. Campbell is responsible for overall project implementation and team management, and is implementing a strategic plan that calls for sustainability and increasing diversification of clients and project types.

Khan is an integral part of the Circle West team demonstrating his ability to be an effective leader.
