Rosendin Electric Promotes Employees
Rosendin Electric has promoted
several of its employees to vice president at the firm's Tempe
location.
William (Bill) Mazzetti, P.E. has been promoted to vice president,
engineering & chief engineer. Educated at Santa Clara
University, Mazzetti has spent the past 22 years involved
in the delivery of complex commercial, institutional, and
industrial buildings worldwide. A registered engineer in 14
states, he is also an IEEE Life Member and holds a National
Council of Engineering Examiners certification.
Prior to joining Rosendin Electric, Bill spent 15 years at
Mazzetti & Associates, with the last twelve years as the
president and chairman.
Larry P. Hollis, DBIA has been promoted as vice president,
business development and will oversee a staff throughout the
western U.S. After completing his apprenticeship program through
the IBEW, Hollis became an electrical foreman for Rosendin
Electric. He went on to become an estimator, project manager,
and division manager. Hollis has brought his skills to assist
customers such as Intel, Applied Materials, and Genentech.
Steve J. Foxworthy has been promoted to vice president, general
superintendent. With 30 years of electrical experience and
25 of those years with Rosendin Electric, Foxworthy has used
his skills on such diverse projects as AT&T Ballpark,
UCB Life Sciences building, Bishop Ranch, Chevron Park, and
Wind Farms throughout the U.S. Foxworthy is a graduate of
the IBEW apprenticeship program.
Barton Malow Company has hired Amanda Elmore as a public
relations manager. Elmore has more than five years of construction
related marketing experience. A graduate of ASU, Elmore began
working as a marketing intern and has held multiple positions
including marketing assistant and marketing coordinator. She
holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Certificate
of International Business from Arizona State University.
The firm has also hired Leah Lorenzen and Jennifer Fifield
as project engineers. Lorenzen has a strong background in
engineering, including more than eight years of construction
related experience. During her undergraduate studies, Lorenzen
worked as an intern with Barton Malow, providing engineering
assistance. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
from Arizona State University's Del E. Webb School of Construction.
Fifield began her professional career with Barton Malow in
Burlington, Vt. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
from the University of Vermont. Additionally, she is a member
of the Society of Women Engineers as well as the American
Society of Civil Engineers.
Pelin Eldelek has been hired
as a project estimator for the northern Nevada office of
Clark & Sullivan. Eldelek will be responsible for
quantity surveys, pricing project costs according to plans
and specifications, analyzing subcontractor bids, and subcontractor
relations. Her estimating role extends to Sacramento and Las
Vegas as well as the Reno market.
Eldelek earned a Bachelor of Science in architecture from
Gazi University in Turkey, a professional degree in construction
management and continues her pursuit of a master's degree
in business from the University of Nevada, Reno.
Tony Illia received a 2006
Nevada Press Association award for Best Explanatory Journalism
for his article, "CityCenter in Line to be Top Energy
User."
Illia is a contributing writer to Southwest
Contractor as well as other McGraw-Hill Construction
publications, including ENR
and Architectural Record.
The AIA Nevada Silver Medal Award was presented to Edward
A. Vance, AIA, President of JMA at the AIA Nevada Annual Awards
Ceremony held recently in Reno, Nevada. Vance joined JMA in
1989 and started his association with AIA in 1987. He is a
past president of AIA Las Vegas and has been a strong contributor
to AIA on a local, regional and national level throughout
the years.
AIA's Silver Medal Award is presented annually to an architect
who has shown strong leadership in the architectural community.
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.
has brought on Bruce Beenken, P.E.
as a project manager for the firm's roadway team in the Tucson
office.
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. has also opened a second
office in the West Valley at 125 South Avondale Blvd. in Avondale.
The southwest region of McCarthy Building Companies Inc.
promoted seven of its partners to new positions, including
two who were promoted to director positions within McCarthy's
education services unit.
Terry Bohl and Mark Snider were promoted to directors of education
services, a market sector that has experienced explosive growth
over the past few years.
Bohl is a seven-year veteran of the company and brings more
than 30 years experience to his position. Bohl has played
an important role as McCarthy has expanded its K-12 education
portfolio, particularly in the east Valley.
Since joining McCarthy in 1989 Mark Snider has been a part
of several notable projects, most recently the Glendale Union
High School District.
Other promotions include Don Mac to assistant project manager,
currently working on the Bridgeview Condominiums project for
Residential Constructors L.L.C., a wholly owned subsidiary
of McCarthy.
Carl Dudzinski was promoted to assistant project manager and
is currently working on the Banner Gateway Medical Center.
Hector Elizondo, Rob Bedsworth, Casey Cunningham and Bruce
Dalrymple have all been named assistant project superintendents.
Elizondo is currently working on the Hayden Ferry Lakeside
Phase 2 Office Buildings and Parking Structure Expansion projects.
Bedsworth is on the UNLV Shadow Lane Biomedical Facility project,
Cunningham is involved with the Glendale Union High School
District renovations and Dalrymple is active on the Edgewater
Condominium Project at Hayden Ferry Lakeside.
Perkowitz+Ruth Architects has named Deborah McCutchen to
the position of director of the southwest region.
McCutchen joined Perkowitz+Ruth Architects in 2001 to serve
as acting director of the Las Vegas office. Since then, the
Las Vegas office has expanded to a staff of 20, and is in
the process of completing an office expansion that includes
an additional 4,000 sq. ft.
Under McCutchen's leadership, the firm's Las Vegas office
has had several notable projects including The Park at Warm
Springs, a collection of 14 single-story office buildings
ranging from 5,600 to 8,000 sq. ft., that garnered the 2005
NAIOP Southern Nevada Chapter Spotlight Award for Best Garden-Style
Office Project.
McCutcheon possesses over 16 years of experience working for
architectural firms located in the Las Vegas region. She earned
a Bachelor of Science degree in architecture from California
Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
The Lied Institute for Real Estate Studies in the School
of Business at the University of Nevada Las Vegas has selected
the Thomas & Mack Co. to receive its annual Lieder Award.
The Lieder Award is presented to a person, company or family
who has contributed to the economic prosperity of Southern
Nevada as a real estate leader showing concern for improving
the community and quality of life while displaying ethics
in business dealings.
Past recipients of the Lieder Award include Robert Lewis,
Irwin Molasky, The Howard Hughes Corporation, Del Webb and
American Nevada Company, A Greenspun Company.
The Thomas & Mack Company owns and operates over three
million sq. ft. of commercial office space in Clark County
and is developing an additional four million sq. ft. of office
and industrial projects.
The Arizona Chapter of Society for Marketing Professional
Services brought home four awards from the 2006 SMPS National
Conference held in Hollywood August 16-19.
Awards included Chapter Website of the Year recognizing the
outstanding content, layout and design of www.smpsarizona.org
created by Publicity Director Brenda Gerhardt and Website
Editor Kate Malloy.
Quarterly newsletter "The Edge" received an Outstanding
Newsletter Award for content, layout and feature substance
due to the efforts of former editor Jennifer Schafer and current
newsletter Chair Marsha Crocket.
Former Chapter President Ann Seibert received President of
the Year honors for her leadership from 2004-2005. In addition
to establishing networking mixers, a quarterly newsletter
and a mentoring program, Ann played an integral role in increasing
local membership 16 percent in her tenure.
The Arizona Chapter also received Honorable Mention for Chapter
of the Year for the group's many achievements in 2005.
