| Weitz Names New President
and CEO The Weitz Company
named Craig Damos as president and CEO. Damos
is only the second person in over 150 years to assume this role who has not been
a member of the Weitz family.
Randy Lavigne, Executive Director for AIA Nevada and AIA Las Vegas Chapters
was presented her Honorary AIA membership at the 2006 AIA Honors and Awards event
at the AIA 2006 National Convention in Los Angeles. This award is given to a person
of esteemed character who is not eligible for membership in the Institute but
who has rendered distinguished service to the profession of architecture.
Craig Damos will assume the role of president
and CEO for The Weitz Company. Craig is only
the second president/chief executive officer of the company in its 151 year history
who has not been a part of the Weitz family. Damos joined Weitz as the strategic
chief financial officer in 2000. He brought more than 20 years of accounting and
financial consulting experience to the organization. Since his arrival, Damos
has been instrumental in structuring development, technology and alternative ventures
in order to establish them as profitable entities. In this most recent position
of vertical growth officer, his business units and initiatives were a critical
element of the Company's growth strategy. Damos holds a bachelor's degree in business
from the University of Iowa. Edward
H. Lucero, AIA, NCARB, and Keith E. Deutscher,
AIA, NCARB have joined the CLC Associates, Inc.
Phoenix office. As an architect, Lucero has extensive experience in new, remodel
and conversion supermarket projects; complete shopping centers; surveys; and site
studies. Lucero attended Arizona State University and Fullerton College. Deutscher
was appointed as project manager and has extensive project design experience,
including the Pacific Coast Retail Center in San Luis Obispo, Cali.; Sam's Town
Hotel and Casino, Reno, Nev.; a PetsMart regional distribution center and numerous
Walgreen's store locations. Deutscher holds a bachelor of architecture degree
from California Polytechnic State University.
Crisci Custom Builders hired Jerry
Williams as project manager. Williams will be responsible for estimating,
bidding and managing multiple projects. Williams brings more than 25 years of
construction experience. Prior to joining the firm, he served as foreman at Complete
Construction in Black Hawk, Colo., where he oversaw all phases of construction
from remodels to ground-up projects. He received a bachelor of science in Business
and Finance from the University of Minnesota.
Sam Nicholson has been promoted to senior
vice president of preconstruction and administration with Perini
Building Company. Nicholson joined Perini Building Company in 1990. He
has held a number of key management positions, including his most recent as vice
president of preconstruction services. Nicholson will continue to oversee estimating
services, including preparation of budget estimates, schedules, logistics, engineering
and planning during the conceptual design, design development, and schematic design
phases of the preconstruction process. He has a bachelor of science in civil engineering
from the University of Arizona. Perini also hired Michael
Indivero as vice president of human resources. Indivero has 27 years of
experience in human resource management. He has a bachelor of science in liberal
studies from the University of the State of New York and completed graduate studies
in industrial and labor relations at the University of New Haven.
DMB Associates, Inc. has promoted Eneas
Kane to chief operating officer. Kane will provide strategic guidance for
DMB, with a particular focus on land-use entitlement, zoning activities and evaluation
of new business opportunities, as well as oversight of legal and risk-management
matters. He takes on the role after serving as executive vice president of DMB
for eight years. Prior to joining DMB, Kane was a founding partner of the Phoenix-based
law firm of Kane Jorden von Oppenfeld Bischoff & Biskind, P.L.C. Kane earned a
bachelor's degree from the University of Santa Clara and his Juris Doctorate from
Hastings College of Law at the University of California. He is a member of the
Maricopa County Bar Association, American Bar Association and the State Bar of
Arizona. He has been a past member of Valley Partnership's board of directors
and has served on the Transportation Policy Committee of Maricopa Association
of Governments since its inception in 2002. DMB has also promoted Jim
Hoselton to the position of chief creative officer. Hoselton's new responsibilities
focus on the creative operations of DMB, including the management of the initial
creative phases of future DMB communities and the transitional phases of mature
developments. Hoselton was formerly vice president responsible for the acquisition,
development and management of DMB's resort-related properties, in addition to
overseeing DMB Realty and company-wide sales and marketing. Hoselton earned his
bachelor's degree from the University of Arizona.
Susan Rojas and Chance
Severns have been hired as project managers at Brignall
Construction Company, Inc. Rojas and Severns each have responsibility
for all day-to-day project management of their projects, including project team
communication, project administration, cost control and subcontractor coordination.
Rojas has 13 years experience and holds a degree in construction management from
Washington State University. Severns has more than 11 years of experience as a
project manager and a field superintendent. He holds a degree in construction
management from Purdue University. The
PENTA Building Group has appointed Mica Crawford
as a contract administrator. In her new role with PENTA, Crawford will be responsible
for assisting in the issuing and administration of subcontracts, processing payables,
entering payroll and various other accounting and administrative duties for PENTA's
projects with Caesars. PENTA also promoted
Brian Schell to assistant superintendent. Schell
joined the firm in 2004 as a general foreman. In his new role, Schell will be
assisting to insure a safe and efficient job site while maintaining schedules
and budgets. Schell will be working on the Green Valley Ranch Phase III project.
