Robert P. "Bud" Black,
PE, PLS, has joined Carter & Burgess,
Inc., as construction services manager in the firm's
Phoenix Transportation Programs Unit.
In this role, Black will manage day-to-day activities, supervise
inspection staff, and continue the firm's ongoing construction
administration projects for such Phoenix-area clients as the
Arizona Department of Transportation, the Town of Gilbert,
and the City of Goodyear. In addition, he will actively market
new clients for Carter & Burgess' growing Transportation
Programs team.
Black earned a master of business administration degree and
a bachelor of science in civil engineering from the University
of Wyoming in Laramie. He is both a registered professional
engineer and a professional land surveyor.
The Weitz Company is pleased to announce the following new
hires - Larry Palmer, project superintendent; Wally Neal,
senior preconstruction manager; Joshua Smith, project manager;
Jason Livengood, Melissa Johnson, Jeremy Knodel, Kevin Bird,
project engineers; Tiffany Tharp, project accountant; and
Pam Kimball, receptionist.
ROEL Construction has hired Rob Bedsworth as project engineer.
He has five years experience in construction and recently
worked for Kaw Valley Habitat for Humanity in Kansas City.
Rob has his bachelor's degree in construction management from
Central Missouri State University.
The G.C. Wallace Company's board of directors is pleased
to announce the promotion of Eugene W. Wright, to executive
vice president. Mr. Wright will join the GCW executive committee
members in managing the firm's day-to-day operations, providing
leadership to company associates, and representing the firm
in relations with local agencies and entities. Mr. Wright's
career spans more than 28 years in civil engineering and has
demonstrated ability to successfully direct large-scale projects
and senior design teams.
Linda Harris, President and CEO of LF Harris and Company,
a Las Vegas, Nevada-based general contractor, received the
Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Community Achievement Award
in the category of Real Estate and Land Development. The Las
Vegas Chamber of Commerce presents the Community Achievement
Awards to honor exceptional individuals throughout southern
Nevada based on their professional and civic contributions.
INQUIPCO, a heavy equipment
rental and sales company located at 2730 N. Nellis Boulevard
in Las Vegas, has named Al Matisoff
operations manager. Matisoff oversees the company's service
team, parts team, field mechanics and pit crew.
Prior to joining INQUIPCO, Mr. Matisoff's diverse background
included high-level positions in the security industry and
the 2002 Olympic organizing committee in Salt Lake City.
Moran Architects recently announce
a new, key addition to its staff. With over 12 years of experience,
Matt Lamont is the firm's
latest addition and senior project manager. He is a University
of Southern California graduate and registered architect in
Arizona.
His project management experience includes housing, biotech
and medical, telecommunications and commercial office. He
brings to the firm an energetic approach and aggressive problem
solving skills.
CFA Inc., a leading Northern
Nevada planning and engineering firm, has recently hired Kerry
D. Cates as an associate planner.
Ms. Cates lives in Reno, returning from San Luis Obispo where
she recently graduated from California Polytechnic University
at San Luis Obispo, with a Masters in Biological Sciences.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Science and Technology
at Sierra Nevada College in Incline Village. Kerry also taught
Environmental Science as a professor at Sierra Nevada College.
She is currently working on the K-W Western Office Building
and the Harley-Davidson Credit Corporation project site under
the direction of Melissa J. Lindell, director of planning.
