DMJMH + N has named Brett Oaks
design principal for the company's Phoenix office, a newly
created position. Oaks will lead the efforts of the architectural
design studio, helping to set the design culture for the Phoenix
office. He will bring more that 15 years of experience to
the position, including previous roles as director of design
for RSP Architects, and as a designer for the architectural
offices of Will Bruder and Antoine Predock. Oaks led the design
team for the Arizona Science Center, completed in 1997, while
working at Predock's firm. He holds a master's degree in architecture
from the University of New Mexico.

Arizona Building Systems, Inc. (ABS) has promoted Douglas
J. Metzdorf, Eric D. Shepherd and Christopher
J. Smith to vice presidents. Metzdorf has been named
vice president of sales, after serving with ABS since 1991.
Metzdorf is a graduate of Kent State, with a B.S. in Industrial
Design, and has 27 years of experience in sales, estimating
and engineering.
Shepherd has been promoted to vice president of operations.
He joined ABS in 1996, as a graduate of ITT Technical Institute
with an A.A. degree in computer aided design. He specializes
in steel building estimating, coordination and management.
Smith will take on the role of vice president of general construction.
He has 26 years of commercial and industrial construction
experience, and has been with ABS since 1997.

Monrad Engineering has promoted Christian
K. Monrad, P.E. to vice president and principal. His
electrical engineering design experience includes Catalina
Foothills High School, Amphitheater Ironwood Ridge High School
and the new Pima Community College/ U of A Northwest Campus.
Monrad is also involved with various professional societies,
including a role as vice-president of the board of the International
Dark-Sky Association. Monrad has been with the company since
1988.

Andy St. Clair and Richard
Richardson have joined Midstate Mechanical, Inc. as
project managers. They are responsible for the day-to-day
management and operations of projects. St. Clair brings over
10 years of experience in the industry, while Richardson has
over 13 years of experience.

Scott Loughridge, president
of SR Construction has been named to the first board of directors
for the National Association of Church Design Builders (NACDB).
The association is a non-profit organization made up of leading
designers and builders of churches and related facilities,
and was created to provide religious and other non-profit
groups with information on planning, design and construction.
Loughridge also serves on the board of the Western Region
of the Design Build Institute of America.

Scott White has joined the
Las Cruces office of Souder, Miller & Associates (SMA)
as a computer aided drafting designer. He has eight years
of experience in the engineering/surveying field, including
roles at three consulting firms. White has worked on highway,
bridge, drainage, and subdivision projects for private clients,
municipalities and the federal government. He received his
associate of applied science degree in computer aided drafting
and building technology from Doña Ana Community College.

Commercial Roofers, Inc. has named third year architecture
student Jared Lebo as the 2003
recipient of the UNLV School of Architecture Commercial Roofers
Scholarship, established through the UNLV Foundation in 1997.
Fifty-two students competed for the award by designing a 30,000-sq.-ft.
clubhouse for a municipal golf course. Lebo's solution included
a 4/12 pitch Spanish tile roof mixed with standing metal seam
accents complimenting the tile color. The $1,000 scholarship
was awarded to Lebo by unanimous decision of the six-member
faculty committee.

Licata Hansen Associates Architecture has announced the addition
of two members to its' professional staff. Sheila
Gregg and Clinton Siu
join the LHAA Team of Ric Licata, Matt Hansen and Christy
Bingham.

Cashman Equipment Company, Nevada's Caterpillar construction
equipment and power solutions dealer, announces the appointment
of Dwayne Wilson as Tesmec sales
representative. The company became the Nevada and Arizona
Tesmec trenching equipment dealership in late 2002.

Christopher M. Hughes a manager
and engineer, has joined AMEC's Earth & Environmental
office in Farmington, New Mexico, where he will direct the
materials testing and inspection unit.
He is a member of the American Society of Testing and Materials
and he has a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the
Colorado School of Mines.
