CORE Construction Announces Construction Completion

CORE Construction announced the firm has completed phases A through B and recently began construction on phase C of the "condo-conversion" of the Monterey at the Las Vegas Country Club (formerly Village Green Apartments). The Nevada-based general contractor, which was contracted by TR Village Green, LLC, said construction is 12 months ahead of schedule due to overwhelming interest in purchasing the condominiums.

The complex, at 600 Oakmount Drive in Las Vegas, comprises 550 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as a health spa and five pools. The project will be completed in 10 phases. The balance of the project's phases will break up the rest of the units, with exterior paint and landscape improvements occurring in conjunction with remaining phases.

CORE Construction has completed 117 unit conversions, which involves stripping existing interiors down to the drywall and refurbishing units with new flooring, baseboards, paint, granite countertops, new millwork, lighting fixtures, appliances, interior and exterior doors, as well as heating and air conditioning units.

Construction of the $17.4 million project began in December 2004 and is now scheduled for completion in 2006, with plans for further expediting of construction based upon sales.

The company also recently announced the company completed construction of the Del E. Webb Middle School in Henderson.

CORE Construction served as general contractor for the project, constructing the 148,300 sq.-ft., single-story school, as well as learning and special program centers and site improvements on the property. The project, at 200 Reunion Drive, is valued at $21 million.

Firm to Build Restaurant

TWC Construction will serve as the general contractor for the next restaurant venture by Carmine Vento, founder of Villa Pizza and the proprietor of locals' favorites Carmine's Little Italy, Instant Replay and Ventano's.

The restaurant design is elegant but casual, incorporating style elements from the Mediterranean, with stone and tile flooring, wood paneling and ceiling and other classic features. The exterior will feature stucco and stone finishes and a clay tile roof.

Construction of the 7,500-sq.-ft. wood frame building is anticipated to start in early July, with the completion date scheduled for the fall. The contract is valued at $1.2 million.

Interior Design Firm Teams with Architects

Colours Inc., a local interior design firm, has been hired in conjunction with Carpenter Sellers Architects for the interior design of phase III of the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy Charter School.

Phase III consists of the school's high school addition. Located at 1201 West Lake Mead Boulevard, company president Leslie Parraguirre and her design team will transform the 75,000 sq. ft. of space into a modern haven for the student body. The award-winning design firm is also designing the school's kindergarten wing pro bono.

The addition will feature a teen center and interactive café. While the school's elementary and middle school additions are brightly decorated with fun designs,

Parraguirre wanted to focus on a more collegiate-inspired environment for the high school.
