Construction Announces Construction Completion CORE Construction
announced the firm has completed phases A through B and recently began construction
on phase C of the "condo-conversion" of the Monterey at the Las Vegas
Country Club (formerly Village Green Apartments). The Nevada-based general contractor,
which was contracted by TR Village Green, LLC, said construction is 12 months
ahead of schedule due to overwhelming interest in purchasing the condominiums.
The complex, at 600 Oakmount Drive in Las Vegas, comprises 550 studio,
one- and two-bedroom apartments as well as a health spa and five pools. The project
will be completed in 10 phases. The balance of the project's phases will break
up the rest of the units, with exterior paint and landscape improvements occurring
in conjunction with remaining phases.
CORE Construction has completed
117 unit conversions, which involves stripping existing interiors down to the
drywall and refurbishing units with new flooring, baseboards, paint, granite countertops,
new millwork, lighting fixtures, appliances, interior and exterior doors, as well
as heating and air conditioning units.
Construction of the $17.4 million
project began in December 2004 and is now scheduled for completion in 2006, with
plans for further expediting of construction based upon sales.
The company
also recently announced the company completed construction of the Del E. Webb
Middle School in Henderson.
CORE Construction served as general contractor
for the project, constructing the 148,300 sq.-ft., single-story school, as well
as learning and special program centers and site improvements on the property.
The project, at 200 Reunion Drive, is valued at $21 million.
Firm to Build Restaurant TWC
Construction will serve as the general contractor for the next restaurant venture
by Carmine Vento, founder of Villa Pizza and the proprietor of locals' favorites
Carmine's Little Italy, Instant Replay and Ventano's.
The restaurant design
is elegant but casual, incorporating style elements from the Mediterranean, with
stone and tile flooring, wood paneling and ceiling and other classic features.
The exterior will feature stucco and stone finishes and a clay tile roof.
Construction
of the 7,500-sq.-ft. wood frame building is anticipated to start in early July,
with the completion date scheduled for the fall. The contract is valued at $1.2
million.
Interior Design Firm Teams with Architects Colours Inc., a local
interior design firm, has been hired in conjunction with Carpenter Sellers Architects
for the interior design of phase III of the Andre Agassi College Preparatory Academy
Charter School. Phase III consists of the school's high school addition.
Located at 1201 West Lake Mead Boulevard, company president Leslie Parraguirre
and her design team will transform the 75,000 sq. ft. of space into a modern haven
for the student body. The award-winning design firm is also designing the school's
kindergarten wing pro bono. The addition will feature a teen center and
interactive café. While the school's elementary and middle school additions
are brightly decorated with fun designs,
Parraguirre wanted to focus on
a more collegiate-inspired environment for the high school.
Firm Completes Multiple Projects Affordable
Concepts, Inc. (ACI), a Las Vegas based general contractor, completed construction
on two area DriveTime facilities; one at 3333 Fremont Street and another at 1616
South Decatur.
The Fremont location was a more than 4,600-sq.-ft. addition
including eight service bays with 10 x 10 overhead doors. Project manager was
Bob Palochik and John Brill was superintendent.
The Decatur job was a remodel
with extensive on and off-site work. Total square footage was more than 3,600.
Nelson Cumana and Don Linne were project manager and superintendent respectively.
ACI
also completed an expansion and renovation of the 9-1-1 Dispatch facility serving
Las Vegas and North Las Vegas.
Work included replacing two emergency generators,
complete renovation of the main 9-1-1 call center and a complete remodel of the
dispatch center. All work took place without interruption of daily functions.
In all, the tenant improvement included over 3,500 sq. ft.
