Home Builder Eyeing Central Office

CENTRA recently announced plans to develop a new corporate headquarters for Pulte Homes to consolidate local operations for the Pulte Homes and Del Webb brands.

Plans call for the construction of an 80,000-sq.-ft. office building on 4.25 acres near Interstate 215 and Durango Drive.

The $12.5 million project is scheduled for a May completion. Howard F. Thompson and Associates are the project architects and CENTRA Construction is the general contractor.


Retail Shops Start Work

Venture Development Group recently announced the start of construction at the Shops at Flamingo and Ft. Apache roads.

Vegas Valley Construction is building the $5 million project.

The 26,600-sq.-ft. project is scheduled for a fourth quarter completion in 2004. The shops occupy three acres.

Perkowitz and Ruth are the project architects.


Office/Industrial on Tap for Reno

Sacramento-based Panattoni Development Company recently announced the company has broken ground on a 31,000-sq.-ft., two-story, $3.8 million office/industrial facility in the South Meadows Business Park in Reno.

The Creekside Corporate Center II is for sale or for lease with sale prices between $150 to $160 per sq. ft. and lease rates from $0.65 to $1.25 per sq. ft.

Sale and lease rates include a $35 per sq. ft. interior office improvement allowance and warehouse lighting. This new facility is scheduled for completion in first quarter of 2005. Panattonni Construction is the general contractor and Blakely Johnson and Ghusn are the architects.

The two-story, concrete tilt-up structure will be located at 980 Sandhill Road. The new facility will mirror, in style, neighboring projects developed by Panattoni Development Company and leased to Alliance Gaming and GameTech International. The building is designed to accommodate separate areas for office and industrial users.


Northern Nevada to See Road Work

Granite Construction Company recently announced it will begin work on a $4 million contract for the Nevada Department of Transportation to perform maintenance on nearly 290,000 sq. yds. of roadway in Carson City. The pavement improvement project will take place over 90 working days and is scheduled to be complete December 2005.

Granite will apply nearly 45,000 tons of asphalt to various areas of the city including Stewart Street, Highway 395 between Nye Lane and Arrowhead, and U.S. 50 spanning from Highway 395 to Deer Run Road.


Contracts Awarded for New Space

Tierra Development has awarded a contract valued at $1.8 million to TWC Construction, Inc. for two buildings at West Tropicana Plaza, located on 2.5 acres in the southwest valley at West Tropicana and South Tee Pee Lane. The project consists of site preparation, buildings and interior improvements for a 5,000-sq.-ft. CMU auto repair business and a 12,000-sq.-ft. wood frame/stucco retail space.

The anticipated completion date is year-end for the buildings and first quarter 2005 for the tenant improvements.

Firm to Add Space for Diagnostic Company

The Steinberg Diagnostic Medial Imaging Center selected The Korte Company to construct its new, two-story office, located adjacent to their current location.

The new $3 million building will provide an additional 33,000 sq. ft. of space to house administrative functions for the company. The plan features a large, architectural wall set diagonally across the front elevation with a façade of rich tile work finishing the design.

JSA Architects, Interiors, Planners is the architect on the project, which is expected to be complete in February.


Vegas Contractor Wins T.I. Work

SR Construction recently announced the firm won the $1.8 million contract for tenant improvement work at the Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas.

SR Construction is remodeling a 14,000-sq.-ft. facility to change it into a physical therapy, rehabilitation and surgical suite floor.

United Health Services is the developer and Nicholas J. Nowicki Ltd. is the architect.
