Firm to Build Prototype High School

The Las Vegas branch of Core Construction, formerly Target General Inc, recently announced the firm has been tapped by the Clark County School District to build an unnamed school on Buffalo and Grand Teton drives in Las Vegas.

The new school will be the prototype for future schools in Las Vegas. The project will consist of four buildings totaling 350,000-sq.-ft. on a 40-acre parcel. The site also includes a football stadium, track, soccer fields and tennis and basketball courts.

Construction on the $45.2 million site is scheduled for completion in July 2005. Tate Snyder Kimsey Architects is designing the project.


Reno Firm Gains Riverfront Project

TNT Construction Inc. of Reno recently won the new riverfront development on Sierra Street that will feature a 12-story river front condo project with a parking garage and retail space.

The project, which is owned by BCN Development of Denver, will feature 87 condos and two floors of retail shops and restaurants.

Work is scheduled to begin early next year.


SR Construction Wins Contracts
Las Vegas-based SR Construction recently won two projects, with the firm building one in Las Vegas and the other in Lake Havasu.

In Las Vegas, SR Construction is building the Lake Mead Promenade, a 19,000-sq.-ft. retail center. The $2 million project will break ground in March and is scheduled for completion in August.

In Lake Havasu, SR Construction is renovating the west wing of the Lake Havasu Regional Medical Center.

Construction costs on the 8,100-sq.-ft. remodel are estimated at $254,000.


Kitchell Lands Medical Project
Kitchell Contractors has been selected by Pacific Sunset Development, LLC, to provide construction management/general contracting services for the new Coronado Medical Office Campus in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The six-acre campus will feature a three-story, 53,700-sq.-ft., multi-use medical facility and five 8,000-sq.-ft. condominium medical office buildings. The campus is located at 6410 Medical Center Drive, at the intersection of Sunset Road and Highway I-215. The architect is Las Vegas-based Youngblood Wucherer Sparer, a full-service architectural and design firm.
