Constructors Team up at Presbyterian Hospital

Builders around Albuquerque recently teamed up to build Rachel's Courtyard, a series of outdoor play areas and rooms at Presbyterian Hospital.

The playground is designed for chronic or terminally ill children who may not experience the outdoors for months at a time.

Architectural firm Dekker/Perich/Sabatini teamed with the McCarthy Building Cos., High Desert Forge, Klinger Constructors and other companies to donate time and materials for the project, with donations totaling $375,000.

Rachel's Courtyard is in memory of Rachel, a five-year old girl who passed away at the hospital.

Contractor Starts Work at Airport

Albuquerque's Bradbury Stamm Construction recently started work on the new, $12.4 million expansion of the Albuquerque International Sunport security screening expansion.

The screening area is the first phase of a $40 million, four-year long optimization plan to give the older airport a facelift and improve efficiency.
Plans call for a Thanksgiving completion on the screening expansion.
