Local Firm in J/V Wins UNM Hospital
Project
The Jaynes/J.E. Dunn Joint Venture was recently awarded the
University of New Mexico Children's Hospital and Critical
Care Pavilion. A low bid of $129 million from Jaynes and J.E.
Dunn Construction of Kansas City, MO., included a dozen cost-cutting
alternatives to the original design. UNM received three bids
for the job.
The 475,000-sq.-ft. pavilion will house UNM Children's Hospital
and operating rooms; neonatal intensive care unit; children's
emergency department; adult emergency department, urgent care
and trauma; adult critical care; and the women's birthing
center, postpartum service and well baby nursery.
DCSW of Albuquerque is the project architect.
Firm to Start Fed Work in Las Cruces
Zachery Construction of San Antonio, Texas is preparing to
start construction on a new, $8.1 million communication facility
for the United States Air Force.
The 52,000-sq.-ft. project is an addition to an existing facility
near Las Cruces and was designed by the Albuquerque office
of DMJM H + N.
Construction is expected to start this fall with an October
2005 completion planned.
