Bradbury Stamm Wins Projects
Albuquerque-based Bradbury Stamm Construction recently started
work on a new, $15 million student service center for the
Albuquerque Technical and Vocational Institute.
Bradbury Stamm is also building a new, 52,000-sq.-ft. space
for Central New Mexico Electric Cooperative in Moriarty, N.M.
The project replaces an older, smaller building.
Governor Signs Transportation Bill
New Mexicon Gov. Bill Richardson recently signed into law
a $1.6 billion transportation package that will pay for 40
road, rail and other transportation projects across the state,
including $60 million to reconstruct the Interstate 40-Coors
Boulevard interchange on Albuquerque's west side.
The measure includes about $60 million in state tax and fee
increases. The bill raises the highway-use tax on trucks by
38 percent; increases the tax on diesel and other "special
fuels" from 18 cents a gallon to 21 cents a gallon and
raises annual motor-vehicle registration fees by an average
of $12.50.
Transportation Department Announces Low Bidders
The New Mexico Department of Transportation recently announced
the winning bids on a variety of roadway projects throughout
the state.
Albuquerque-based A.S. Horner won the $20 million job to rebuild
the Lousiana Interchange in Albuquerque. Constructors Inc.
of Carlsbad won a $1.8 million project to rebuild a mile of
new roadway in Lovington. In Lincoln County, W.W.C. Inc of
Albuquerque won a $1.1 million contractor work in various
cities.
