Reno Architects to Design Church
Reno's Licata Hansen Associates Architecture has been selected
as the architect for Grace Community Church's new facility
in the Carson Valley. Grace's 20-acre site will contain a
sanctuary, Sunday school classrooms, administrative offices,
and sports fields, as well as other amenities, to be completed
in a multi-phase project. The complex will accommodate the
congregation's growing future needs in a cost-effective building
envelope.
LHAA's design team for this $1.3 million project will include
Knopf Sharp & Associates, with additional consulting accomplished
on a design-build basis. R.O. Anderson and Pezzonella Associates
Inc. have been retained by the owner to provide civil engineering
and geotechnical services, respectively.
Construction is expected to begin fall 2003, with completion
scheduled for summer 2004.
Warehouse/Office Job Finishes Up
EJM Development Co., recently announced the construction
completion of Arrowhead Building 14, a 158,125-sq.-ft. warehouse/office
building in the Arrowhead Commerce Center. The building, located
at 6180 S. Pearl St. in Green Valley, is available for immediate
occupancy.
Located on 9.38 acres, the building offers high image office/warehouse
space, divisible to 21,600-sq.-ft. units. Arrowhead Building
14 features a state-of-the-art fire sprinkler system throughout,
minimum 30-ft. ceilings, a 61-ft. deep concrete truck apron,
9 x 10 ft. dock high loading doors and 12 x 14 ft. grade level
loading doors, with excellent access and truck circulation.
In addition, the office space is built to suit.
Schuff Steel Wins Vegas Work
Schuff International, Inc. recently announced the award of
a new project to a subsidiary.
The Forum Shops at Caesar's, Phase 3, Las Vegas, Nev., involves
the fabrication and erection of approximately 2,300 tons of
structural and miscellaneous steel for the addition of approximately
320,000 sq.-ft. of retail space. Fabrication is expected to
begin in the second quarter of 2003, with erection completed
in the fourth quarter of 2003. Las Vegas-based Perini Building
Co. awarded the project to Schuff Steel.
Reno Firm to Build School
Clark & Sullivan Constructors has been awarded a $7.3 million
contract for the construction of an Arts Building at Lassen
Union High School in Susanville, Calif.
The project will replace the current outdated building with
a new state-of-the-art facility and includes demolition of
the existing building, and complete construction of the new
building encompassing asbestos abatement, pile foundation,
steel frame, and exterior metal stud walls with plaster finish.
Construction crews began work on the 48,000-sq.-ft. building
on March 17 and completion is scheduled for spring of 2004.
Clark & Sullivan's Terrence Spampanato
serves as project manager and Berry Tholl serves as project
superintendent.
