Members Gather for Association Events

Fall is a busy team with a slew of annual banquets and meetings for the building industry.

Company winners included: Southern Arizona: Canoa Builders, Inc., Support for and involvement in the Boy Scouts of America, Catalina Council; Hunt Construction Group, Inc., St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank Re-build Project; Northern Arizona: Townsend Construction, House Raffle to Benefit Habitat for Humanity.

CORE Construction Services of Arizona and ADM Group raised over $30,000 for the Citizens for the Maricopa County Community Colleges Bond Campaign at a fundraiser event last week.

At the fundraiser, a check was presented to the community college board.

From left: Shawn Maurer, Executive Vice President of CORE Construction Services of Arizona; Luis "Gonzo" Gonzalez, of the Arizona Diamondbacks #20; Ben Barcon, Principal of ADM Group; Dr. Rufus Glasper, Chancellor of Maricopa Community Colleges, Steven Chanen, Chairman of Citizens for Maricopa Community Colleges.

Special guests included Mary Rose Wilcox, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors; Lionel Diaz, Director of Capital Planning for Maricopa Community Colleges; and Steven Helgot, Vice Chancellor of Maricopa Community Colleges. Dennis Montague, Vice President of Construction Services for CORE Construction and Ben Barcon, Principal of ADM Group, were the Masters of Ceremonies for the evening.

The American Institute of Architects, Arizona chapter, recently presented their highest award of merit, the Arizona Architects Medal, to Edward Marley, second from left. The award was presented by Patrick Rehse (l), Doug Whitneybell (second from right) and Klindt Breckenridge (r). Other winners included: Client Award-City of Phoenix; Associates Award-Daniel Perez, Associate AIA; Contractor Award-Stevens-Leinweber Construction; Award of Distinction-Tina Gobbel, Hon. AIA; Kemper Goodwin-Highland Commons at the U of A; Kemper Goodwin-Wrigley Mansion Club; Phil Dinsmore Service Award-Phil Swaim, AIA and "Firm of the Year" to the Orcutt/Winslow Partnership.
