Wynn Breaks Ground on Encore

Wynn Resorts began construction on its newest expansion, Encore, on the site of the original Desert Inn. The resort will be erected adjacent to Wynn Las Vegas on the north side of the property and is scheduled for completion in December 2008.

On April 28, 2000 Steve Wynn and the newly-formed Wynn Resorts acquired the Desert Inn property.

Encore will be developed and will mark the second full-scale hotel to occupy a portion of the company's 240-acre assembly of real estate in Las Vegas.

The expansion of the resort will be fully integrated with the neighboring Wynn Las Vegas, containing all the usual elements that complete a resort experience; including additional rooms, convention and meeting space, more casino space, restaurants, nightclubs, spa and salon, retail outlets and swimming pools.

Parkline Lofts Begins Construction

Massengale Construction Inc. will serve as general contractor on the Parkline Lofts, a class-A, three-story, 65-unit loft and penthouse condominium project. A 12-month construction phase on the project is expected, with an estimated completion of April 2007.

Russian Hill Partners, a wealth management company from San Francisco, arranged financing and construction is underway. The $23.5 million project represents the first residential project in the redevelopment of downtown Henderson.

Parkline Lofts construction consists almost entirely of steel, concrete and glass, and will be an architectural centerpiece for downtown Henderson.

Units range from 750 to 1,750 sq.-ft. in 10 distinctive floor plans. The units contain design features such as balconies or private spaces, acoustical walls, ceilings and floors; private parking for up to two vehicles and floor-to-ceiling glass windows.

The penthouse units have a private balcony with a view of the Las Vegas Strip.

The project is a joint venture between Parkline Lofts and the City of Henderson Redevelopment Agency, and is part of a planned $550 million urban redevelopment of downtown.
