Use Center Starts Construction Montecito Companies Chairman Robert
Schulman recently unveiled plans to develop Montecito Pavilion, a $75 million
mixed-use center situated on 30 acres at the northwest corner of Tropical Way
and Lamb Boulevard in North Las Vegas.
The development will be located
near the new Lamb Boulevard and I-15 interchange and will include 50,000 sq. ft.
of retail space as well as a 12-acre mid-rise residential development. The project's
preliminary plans, created by Vedelago Petsch Architects, include a grocery-anchored
shopping center consisting of seven retail buildings and eight stand alone pads.
The plan's design also includes arches, awnings and lush landscaping. Montecito
Pavilion is scheduled to break ground in the summer of 2006 with an expected completion
date in the first quarter of 2007.
Contractor to Build Residential Towers Martin-Harris
Construction has been retained by Palm Beach Resort Condominiums LLC as General
Contractor for Boca Raton Condominiums, officials announced recently.
Boca
Raton Condominiums will consist of four seven-story mid-rise buildings with a
total of 756 homes, built on two two-story underground parking garages. The community
will be spread out on 15 acres on the fast-growing South Las Vegas Strip, approximately
four miles south of Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino. Boca Raton Condominiums
is located at 2475 W. Serene Avenue in Las Vegas. The first 172 homes and 10,000
sq. ft. clubhouse are scheduled for completion in early fall 2006.
Class A Office Space Starts Construction Christopher
Commercial recently broke ground at the site of Parkway Pointe a new 53,000-sq.-ft.
Class-A office building the company is constructing on a 2.75-acre parcel at the
northeast corner of Summerlin Parkway and Town Center Drive.
The two-story,
$12.5-million office building is designed to provide professional office users
with a prime master planned location on a highly visible freeway interchange in
Summerlin.
The architect for Parkway Pointe is Swisher and Hall Architects.
Burke and Associates is general contractor. Completion of the building could be
as early as summer 2006.
Rehab
Hospital to See Rehab Itself Colours Inc., a local interior design
firm, has been hired by Las Vegas Rehabilitation Hospital, LLC, in conjunction
with KGA Architecture, for the interior design of Desert Canyon Rehabilitation
Hospital.
Located at Oquendo and the 215 Beltway, Desert Canyon specializes
in physical/occupational therapy, and luxury plastic surgery recovery suites for
outpatient and inpatient needs. Lead designers Leslie Parraguirre, president of
Colours, and Leslie Mack, design director, will design more than 50,000 sq.
ft. of interior space for the acute care rehabilitation and therapy center.
The project will consist of therapy and private luxury recovery suites as
well as specialized exterior serene gardens with tranquil pools to promote total
well-being. Celebrity chef and local favorite Gustav Mauler will serve as executive
chef of the hospital, providing patients with culinary delights. Expected project
completion date is Fall 2006.
CORE Wins 2 Schools CORE Construction
announced the firm has recently been contracted by the Clark County School District
to construct the Sandra Lee Thompson Elementary School, at 7351 N. Campbell Road,
and Kitty McDonough Ward Elementary School, at 5555 Horse Drive, both in Las Vegas.
Both
66,000-sq.-ft. schools will be constructed of masonry and structural steel, constructed
on approximately 10-acres and include playgrounds and parking lots. Construction
of the Sandra Lee Thompson Elementary School, a $15 million project, began on
July 6 and is scheduled for completion in June of 2006. The Kitty McDonough Ward
Elementary School, a $15 million project, will begin construction on Aug. 8 and
is scheduled for completion in July of 2006. JMA Architecture Studios is the architect
of record for both schools.
