Ingersoll Rand Air Compressor After listening to customer feedback, Ingersoll Rand of Davidson, N.C., has released a revision to its XHP1170FCAT air compressor. The unit now fits into a smaller footprint, and maintains the same amount of power.

The new XHP1170 is less than 13 ft in length, nearly 2.5-ft shorter than the previous model. The company claims that the unit now provides the highest power density per-square-foot in the size range, and with the smallest footprint available in the market.

The more compact size provides additional space on a trailer for other equipment. Ingersoll Rand is also providing enhanced factory-installed options with the revised XHP1170FCAT, including a spark arrestor, battery, day fuel tank and frame isolators.

The XHP1170FCAT provides a free air delivery
of 1,170 cu ft per minute.

Bobcat Remote Control Bobcat Co. of West Fargo, N.D., recently unveiled a loader radio remote control system for use with its Bobcat skid-steer and compact track loaders. The system expands the capabilities of the skid-steer and track loaders with joystick controls.

Operators can start the loader engine and operate the drive, lift, tilt and auxiliary hydraulic functions from as much as 1,500 ft away with the radio remote control transmitter. The transmitter joystick activates the loader’s joystick controls in the ISO control pattern. The company states that the system is useable for up to 15 hours on a rechargeable battery.

Bobcat is marketing the remote control option to customers working in the military, government, construction, landscaping and agriculture markets. A military mandate requires that one-third of all ground vehicles be unmanned by 2015.

Also, the system is portable, so customers with multiple machines can transfer the system from one loader to another.
