The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Southwest Division is reviewing bids for maintenance operations for the new F-35 Joint Strike Fighter at Luke Air Force Base near Phoenix. This design-bid-build project consists of the F-35 Squadron Operations Facility and adjacent Aircraft Maintenance Unit Facility. Activity will include construction of a one-story, 22,281-sq-ft sprinkler-equipped facility to house flight planning; air crew briefing/debriefing and training in a secure environment; administration; and issue of flight crew life support system equipment. The facility also includes parking; general storage; mechanical/electrical equipment and communications; fire protection; and other utilities. New construction will consist of a concrete foundation; split-faced concrete block; and sloped standing seam metal roof. New Mexico

Foursite Consulting is accepting bids as the owner's representative for Southern Avenue Villas Apartments in Mesa, which will include 12 wood-framed, three-story buildings. The project will create 354 residential units, 10 detached garages and carports, a clubhouse, pool/amenities areas and a mail station. The Elko County School District is reviewing general contractor bids for the New West Wendover Elementary School project in West Wendover. The project is valued at $31.7 million. The school is planned as a one-story, 110,000-sq-ft structural steel building. Design elements include metal studs with gypsum walls and a block exterior. The Clark County Water Reclamation District has received bids for the Paradise-Whitney Sanitary Sewer Interceptor project at various locations throughout Las Vegas. The project is valued at $62.3 million and involves gravity sewer infrastructure; manholes; storm drain structure and piping; utility relocations; storm drain removal and replacement; and street construction. The Arizona Dept. of Transportation has awarded Granite Construction of Tucson the contract for its AZ/DOT Roadway Widening project on State Route 77 from Tangerine Road near Oro Valley to the Pinal County line at Eagle Crest Ranch Boulevard. The $33.8-million project will add one lane in each direction to the roadway, two wildlife crossings, pedestrian improvements and other amenities. Ryan Cos. has begun construction of the Hayden Ferry Lakeside Office Building Phase III project in Tempe. Construction costs will make up 65% of the $68.8-million total project cost, according to majority owner Parkway Properties of Orlando. The 10-story steel structure will include 261,000 sq ft of office and retail space. The structure is the final component of the 780,000-sq-ft master-planned office development at Tempe Town Lake. Landmark Properties is reviewing bids for The Standard @ Flagstaff Student Housing Project in Flagstaff. The project has an estimated value of $52 million. Construction will include two residential buildings with retail lease space on grade, a parking garage and an outdoor swimming pool. The four-story and five-story residential buildings will be wood-framed and will include 10,278 sq ft of retail space.
